The WPIAL Outstanding Lineman Award, or Bill Fralic Memorial Award, will be given to an outstanding football player who is a leader in his school and on his team. The winner will have demonstrated dominance on offense or defense or both. On offense, he provided his team’s offense with a consistent presence to run behind. On defense he will have routinely fought off double teams and was often in the opposing backfield. The awardee must also be of exemplary character and a reliable and trusted teammate.
Each team in every classification will be permitted to nominate one player. Each of the 6 WPIAL classifications, through its selector, will offer one of the nominations as the classification finalist. The William P. Fralic Foundation Selection Committee will select the winner from the six finalists presented to them.
